Areaderma stands out for its ability to propose customized solutions according to customer’s needs, from the formulating development to the finished product. Our Reseach & Development Laboratory can develop almost 450 new formulas in one year, therefore with an average of two formulas per day. We have more than 3,000 active formulas which have been developed upon our partners ‘request, who are operating in Italy and in Europe.

A high-tech laboratory with skilled personnel, technologies and our passion to find new solutions allow us to put always at first place our customers satisfaction through skilfulness and professionalism. Our distinguishing features are versality and reliability also in the production and packaging process and allow us to follow our customers through all the process of creation of a cosmetic; from the prototype to the finished product.

We are able to follow our customers also with packaging supplied with a contractual work, but also in full service projects, where customers require to find also the primary and the secondary packaging.

The main target of this department is to identify new technologies, avantgarde methodologies, modern raw materials and new formulating solutions in order to grant a top technical support to our customers, also conducting the real Research projects.

For example, one of the main focus of our last research was the valorisation of secondary substances (manufacturing remains), coming from the agricultural supply chain in Trentino with cosmetic action to use as antioxidants, natural preservatives and subtractors of free water in an environmental sustainability perspective and 0-kilometer raw materials.

This is an equipment, able to rapidly measure the density of any liquid, creamy and solid substances reducing the measuring times from more than 10 minutes to a few seconds. It is based on physical principles which have not been applied until today to this kind of equipment and it allows to extraordinarily simplify the analytical method in the laboratory or directly in the production line.

This is a natural technology referring to the basic structure of a cosmetic formula. It is the result of years of researches in our laboratory to grant the efficacy of our products. In summary, it consists of a particular type of formulating structure which proofs the capacity to accelerate and optimize the absorption in the epidermis of the active substances contained in the same product.

Our quality management laboratory carries out analysis along the whole production process, from raw to semi-processed materials until the finished product. This aims at the highest possible quality of products through a careful monitoring of chemical-physical and microbiological parameters.
The target is reached both through the monitoring of the processing documentations (such as analysis certificates, technical safety sheets of raw materials, processing sheets, etc.) and instrumental analysis.

Chemical and physical laboratory

The equipment at hand allows us to carry out the following standard checks: density, pH, viscosity, refraction index, colour survey with colorimeter.

Furthermore, we can check the following: dry residue (with thermoscale), electric conductivity and oxidation of raw materials and semi-processed materials (through Oxytest), packaging endurance (through the empty bell).

We carry out another series of analysis such as: the titration of free water to study the optimization of cosmetic preservation; the dosage of active substances, study of UV-filters stability, preservatives, etc. through HPLC-UV-DAD; identification of raw materials and reception in the warehouse with NIR.
We test the stability of any emulsion through a spin cycle and we carry out the analysis of accelerated stability of semi-processed materials through refrigerating incubators, heaters and thermostat refrigerator for any thermic shocks.

Through consolidated cooperation and partnerships we can also offer a wider and more complete service, including Patch Test, Nickel Test, Challenge Test, Insulting Test, In Use Test, Het-cam Test, skin-and-eye irritation test, cytotoxicity test and different functionality test, such as SPF value in vitro and in vivo, the long-term acute hydration, anti-dandruff activity, etc.

Microbiological Laboratory

Areaderma Control Quality Laboratory carries out microbiological analysis on raw materials, semi-processed materials and on the finished products as well as during all the main production steps, such as: working equipment, air, water and packaging. This is to monitor any possible source of contamination.

Thanks to a large fleet of machines, we are able to produce varying quantities of many references, including alcohol-based cosmetics.

Our production capacity for each shift varies depending on the type of product, but can reach more than 3,000 kilograms of hot emulsion and 8,000 kilograms of tensiolites or cold solutions.

For a total of more than 2,000 processes and 500 tons of semi-finished products.

In our laboratories, we produce: white cosmetics (face creams, body creams, cleansers, micellar waters, serums, tonics, shampoos, conditioners, scrubs, deodorants, bubble baths, shower baths, etc.), alcohol-based cosmetics (eau de toilette, perfumes, lotions, etc.), Oils (moisturizers, massage, essential oil mixes, etc.), Class I and II Medical Devices.

Every year we package 1.5 million bottles, more than 2 million tubes and 500,000 jars.

We are equipped to package single-dose beads and 500/1,000 ml refill pouches.

Versatility and responsiveness are key to our packaging department. In fact, we have easily modular lines that allow us to handle orders of different sizes and many types of packaging and packing.

We are always looking for innovative solutions to make our internal processes more and more efficient and versatile, which is why we have implemented, in addition to the classic packaging lines, a system of single work cells, where a single operator performs all processing up to the finished product. This is because we always aim for better solutions, but also because it is of great value to us the person, who, unlike machines, allows for a higher sensitivity to the quality of what is produced.
